At JOJY Music for Children we offer unique curriculum-based music programs designed to enhance your child’s enjoyment of music and development of musical skills while nurturing their self-esteem and confidence. Our program combines various concepts based upon the pedagogical approaches of Carl Orff and Zoltán Kodály.
JOJY founders, Jennifer and Justin, are former Capilano University Community Music School instructors who formed their unique teaching style under the tutelage of Nadine Bohna, founder of the original Kodaly Orff Music for Children program at the university. They are proudly carrying on her 40 plus year legacy of methodology whilst bringing fresh ideas and energy to their programming.
Our goal is to nurture a love of music within all of our students. The narrow age ranges in our program allow us to tailor developmentally appropriate curriculum to each class; this in turn allows us to effectively teach core music fundamentals within a fun-filled and joyful learning environment.
We are presently offering classes at three convenient North Shore locations: St. Catherine’s Church in Edgemont Village, Canyon Heights Montessori Preschool in Canyon Heights and West Vancouver Community Centre in Dundarave. (click on location for directions/map)
